Community Baby Shower

  • Print

Today’s 6 and FOX9 (along with 94.9 the River, 107.1 K-HITS, 100.3 The X, and Variety Rock 105.1) are partners with Blue Cross of Idaho and Rosauers to help Treasure Valley babies and families. For the 6th consecutive year, Journal Broadcast Group is holding a week long Community Baby Shower.

We hope you will help by donating diapers and wipes, NEW clothing, and baby personal care products (creams, lotions etc.) and formula.  Cash donations can easily be made online – at The money will be spent on diapers and wipes and divided evenly to our benefiting charities.

Donations can be dropped off all week at Rosauers Supermarket at Eagle/Ustick in Meridian. Rosauers has even created pre-made $10 bags filled with diapers and wipes located at the front of the store making donating easy.  There will also be bins set up at Rosauers, staffed by volunteers from the four charities benefitting from Community Baby Shower, for people wanting to drop off donations.

Four non-profit organizations will receive all the goods collected:

  • BabySteps in Boise
  • Catholic Charities of Idaho in Nampa
  • Baby Haven at The Salvation Army in Caldwell
  • Marian Pritchett High School in Boise

All four groups are committed to helping moms and moms-to-be through incentive based education programs. The agencies educate women about how to make healthy, safe choices in pregnancy and parenting. In return for attending classes, doctors appointments, etc...the women are able to use the points they earn for goods (all the baby items we will collect).

With education and teamwork we can all make a difference in the lives of Treasure Valley families who really need the help and are willing to work for it - not just getting a hand out.
